Polaroid Project - Fading Echoes of Shared Memory (2021-)

This Polaroid photography project began with an old photo from 1970s. At some point, our collective memories of once-vibrant places began to fade as urbanization took hold. Now, outdoor swimming pools once teeming with activity are overrun by weeds, amusement parks with logbooks dating back a decade, and dilapidated temples inhabited by only a handful of monks. These memories, once shared by all, have gradually blurred into obscurity. 

Choosing Polaroid as the medium for this project was driven in part by the unique qualities of its paper. As time passes, the images on the paper gradually fade and blur, mirroring the fleeting nature of our memories.
